The inadequacy of the human language renders words obsolete at times. Art, and the internal as well as external energy that it inspires, speaks for itself.

 

As humans, we are forged by our environments. I always have believed in the importance and influence of embracing ones own aesthetic identity. The pieces that you wear, the items that you surround yourself with, the music that you listen to, the shows and performances you absorb are essential architects in making you you- not just to others, but also to yourself.

 

In 2021, I almost lost my left eye due to complications with a horrific eye infection. I had never been more terrified in my entire life than when the doctor in the emergency room on Thanksgiving literally told me that I might lose my eye. That's actually how this *gestures broadly to the crafting* started. I was laying in a dark room with medicated ice packs over my eyes for nearly a month, and that is when I decided that I would not take the gift of sight for granted.

 

I realized how I wanted to do more than appreciate the beauty of other peoples' art and decided that once I recovered, I would start to make my own. 

 

At first I just made bracelets and resin items as gifts for coworkers, family, friends and myself of course. I became addicted to the process and would spend hours playing with different techniques until I got good enough at it that multiple people told me I should look into starting my own little boutique- so here we are!
